In the early hours of Sunday, 10th July, 1977, Peter Sutcliffe picked Maureen Long up in his white Ford Corsair as she left the Mecca ballroom in Manningham.

Although Maureen was not a prostitute, they drove to Bowling Back Lane to have sex. Sutcliffe attacked Maureen Long in Bowling Back Lane and left her for dead after brutally attacking her.
